It’s also important to note that anyone wishing to rent out all or part of their property must collect a tourist tax. Since September 1, 2020, Airbnb automatically collects this tax to streamline the process.

Lastly, if you plan to accommodate foreign visitors for profit, you must register them with the cantonal police. To do so, you can visit the police website and access the section dedicated to reporting the accommodation of foreign persons.

Please be aware that subletting, even partially, is strictly prohibited in publicly subsidized housing units such as LGL, LDTR, and LUP. Violation of this prohibition may result in immediate termination of the lease agreement.
